Since 1980, David Clarkson has exhibited in many galleries and museums, including the18th Sao Paulo Biennial, Brazil; S.L. Simpson Gallery, Toronto; the Drawing Center, and MoMA P.S.1, New York; and the Compton Verney Museum, England. Over the past two years, he exhibited his artwork in Dusseldorf, Madrid, Toronto and New York. His work has been reviewed in Artforum, Art in America, Parachute, Bomb, and the New York Times; and featured in various art catalogs and books, such as Volcano (2012), Abstract Painting in Canada (2007) and Post-Hypnotic (1999). Clarkson has also written about contemporary art for several international art magazines, including Flash Art and Bomb. From 1991 until 2010, Clarkson lived in New York. He received an MFA in 2012 and is currently an instructor of painting at OCAD University in Toronto, Canada.
